Will the installation process be faster if I deactivate my antivirus?

Yes. Deactivating your antivirus will eliminate the CD checking process and so the delay in initialising the installation process will disappear.

Nonetheless, deactivating your antivirus will lower your computer's defences against possible virus infections or other unwanted processes. Therefore, if you wish to ensure that the security levels are maintained and you decide to deactivate the antivirus to carry out the installation, you will have to previously physically disconnect any Internet or network connection which the computer is connected to.

Once the installation is complete, do not forget to reactivate the antivirus and leave it with the same settings you had previously. Having done so, the Internet or network connection can be re-established with the security level that was present before deactivating the antivirus.

If you do not know how to deactivate and activate your antivirus, contact the antivirus manufacturer. Alternatively, you can choose not to deactivate it and execute the installation process knowing it may take a few minutes to initiate.
