This is a starter bar placed at the top of some columns whose section is reduced by a specific proportion in their next span. Therefore, some of the bars have to be anchored at the top of the column and so, the starter bars are placed for the reinforcement of the span above.

The aforementioned proportion is found at Job > General data > By position > Vertical bar options > Transitions due to dimension changes. The value may be increased (up to 1, 45º transition angle) to avoid this reinforcement and for all the reinforcement to be bent. Additionally, the arrangement of this transition reinforcement can be seen by printing the Detailing of columns drawing.
