When a structure has an environment assigned to it and part of it is left exposed (overhangs, pergolas, etc.) and therefore with a different environment, it is more practical to calculate with a single type of concrete and cover and apply an anti-carbon treatment or protection to those exposed areas. This may be a simple treatment varying from a simple cover using mortar or by applying a special anti-carbon paint.
